Concrete Poured on Solid Ground

Once concrete is poured, nothing underneath it can be fixed without tearing it out. We prepare the subgrade, set forms, place reinforcement, and finish and cure the slab to limit cracking and settling.

A slab is only as stable as the ground under it. We compact and prepare the subgrade, set forms true, and place reinforcement before the pour. Loose or uneven Florida sand, and the water moving through it, can undermine a slab. That is a common reason driveways crack and walkways heave.

We place control joints so the concrete cracks along those lines instead of at random, finish the surface to the texture the job needs, and cure it so it gains strength instead of drying too fast. In Florida heat, curing matters: concrete that dries too quickly in the sun ends up weaker at the surface.

We pour driveways, patios, walkways, footings, and slabs, and we repair concrete that has cracked, settled, or spalled. When full replacement is not needed, repair or resurfacing may give you a sound surface for less. We will explain which option fits the condition of the slab.
